Edmonton -

A man arrested in Albania in connection to a 2019 homicide in Edmonton saw his charges stayed during trial in May 2023.

Artin Korca, 21, was charged with second-degree murder in the Jan. 20, 2019, stabbing death of 20-year-old Gearard Wright outside an apartment building in the Ermineskin area.

Police say Korca was arrested by Albanian police at a border crossing on Aug. 8, 2021, following an international "red notice" from Interpol.

The proceedings were stayed on May 25, 2023, two days into Korca's trial.
