As thousands of Canadians make plans to travel during the summer, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has decided to update wait times for the crossing the Canada-U.S. border by using Twitter.

CBSA president Stephen Rigby says this will be part of a three-month pilot project to broadcast via Twitter.

"I am pleased that the CBSA, a professional, innovative organization, is always looking for ways to keep Canadians informed and prepared for their border crossing requirements," said Rigby in a news release.

The CBSA says it will welcome feedback from all of its followers on Twitter and plans to read all @replies.

Those who choose to follow the CBSA_BWT account, will receive updates to border wait times across the entire country.
