More than an hour after authorities issued an Amber Alert, after a pickup truck was stolen from the Grande Prairie area with an infant inside, RCMP confirmed the child had been found.

An Amber Alert was issued just after 2:15 p.m. for an infant, who was in the back seat of the pickup truck stolen at some point between 12:30 and 1 p.m. Tuesday from in front of a Grande Prairie home.

Police said at about 3 p.m., officers received a call from a resident who lived just south of Grande Prairie, reporting that an infant had been left in a car seat on the porch of his home.

Paramedics and RCMP confirmed the infant was the one abducted earlier – the child has been taken to a local area hospital to be examined, but it’s believed she was not injured.

Officers received a tip that led them to find the truck just after 4:15 p.m., the vehicle and suspects were found at a forestry products mill located south of Grande Prairie.

Police said three suspects were taken into custody after a foot chase.

At last word, no charges had been laid.
