On Friday, August 5, the St. Albert Drug Unit, with assistance from ALERT and St. Albert RCMP, arrested two people in connection to a Dial a Dope investigation.

This on-going investigation resulted in the seizure of approximately 1 ounce of methamphetamine that was divided into 71 individual baggies that were packaged for illicit sale.  Various pieces of drug paraphernalia were also seized.  This amount of methamphetamine is about 300 “hits” or 300 single uses that are now off the streets of St. Albert.

Dial a Dope Dealers mean drug dealers who use cellular phones to facilitate drug transactions.  Drug deals are arranged through text messages or brief cell phone calls and then the drug dealer and the buyer meet to exchange money for the drug.
