EPS said Monday night that officers were investigating a collision that left two pedestrians in hospital.

Police said officers were called to the scene, at 98 Avenue east of Terrace Road, at about 7:50 Monday evening.

It was reported a car headed westbound on 98 Avenue allegedly hit two pedestrians who were walking south across the avenue in a marked crosswalk.

Both were treated on the scene, and taken to hospital with injuries. The 22-year-old woman sustained life-threatening injuries, and the 27-year-old man suffered non-life threatening injuries.

EPS are investigating the incident, excessive speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash.
