Family and friends of an Alberta man who has been missing since Monday are asking for the public’s help to find him.

Andrew Nicoll was last heard from on Monday afternoon and officials have been conducting searches for the 55-year-old near his Breton property after he failed to show up for work on Tuesday.

Nicoll’s daughter, Bronwyn Taylor, said she had been texting back and forth with him on Monday.

“Nothing seemed out of the norm. That was around 3:30 or 3:40 on Monday. Then that evening I texted him and he never received a text, which out in the farm he doesn’t always.”

However, by Tuesday morning Taylor said her father still had not read the message. Then she got a call that he had not turned up to work.

“It is so out of the norm so right away we called RCMP.

“Right from the get-go RCMP started a search. They had air services out and tracking dogs and called in Search and Rescue and a full grid search was done for a couple of days.”

Over the weekend about 40 volunteers turned out to help with the search.

“We are doing searches of all the highways and ditches and sideroads and everything and around the area as far as we can get to,” Taylor explained.

“We have no tips. We have no leads. There were no signs of struggle. He doesn’t have any of his id. He doesn’t have his phone, wallet, keys, vehicle, anything.

“Absolutely nothing was taken. He doesn’t even have his jacket with him.”

She said that having searched her father’s property she believes he may have left the area with someone.

“He may have just gone with someone to avoid a struggle because it is pretty isolated out here, or he may have just gone with someone to try and give them a hand because that is what he is like.”

She said she has been hoping someone with information will come forward so they can find him.

“Even if it is an anonymous tip we are just hoping someone can come forward and let us know maybe which direction to start going.”

Nicolls has been described as 6’0 tall, slender with salt-and-pepper hair. He has a British accent and a tattoo of the word ‘courage’ on his wrist.

“He is loved and missed and we want him home,” Taylor said.

Anyone with information has been asked to contact the Breton RCMP detachment.

A fund has been set up to help cover the costs of the search.

If you would like to donate, go to any ATB Branch, funds are being accepted under the names Hope for Andy and Bronwyn Taylor.
