Officials with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency said Friday that a certain type of onion rings was being pulled from store shelves, over concerns that glass might be in the product.

McCain brand Onion Rings, with the best before date of October 28, 2015 is being voluntarily recalled, the CFIA said, due to possible glass contamination.

The recall refers to the 397 g packages, with a lot code beginning with V40728.

The CFIA said the recall was triggered by McCain Foods, and no injuries have been reported connected with the product.
