Edmonton police have charged a man in connection to the first of three stabbings, and one of two fatalities, to take place in the city Tuesday night.

On Thursday, Homicide Detectives said Randal Gladue, 25, had been charged with second degree murder and possession of an offensive weapon, for the Tuesday night stabbing.

Police were called to a convenience store parking lot near 107 Avenue and 104 Street Tuesday at about 6:30 p.m.

Witness accounts suggested a fight between two men had escalated, and one man was stabbed.

Paramedics treated the injured man on the scene, and he was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

An autopsy was conducted Wednesday – the Medical Examiner confirmed the victim was Travis Untinen, 36, and he died from a stab wound.
