Police in Westlock have laid charges against a man, in connection to the deaths of two men late Saturday night.

Westlock RCMP officers were called to a home near Busby, Alberta – located about 28 kilometres southwest of Westlock – at about 10:40 p.m. Saturday, December 28.

Officers found two men, Curtis Perrin, 37, and Kevin Boles, 46, dead inside the home, with apparent gunshot wounds, and the second man’s father, Alvin Boles, 70, inside.

Police arrested the 70-year-old at the scene and took him into custody.

After investigating the incident, Boles faced one charge each of second degree murder (for Perrin's death), manslaughter in the death of Kevin Boles, use of a firearm during the commission of an offence and careless use of a firearm.

"Evidence that the investigators gathered were able to support one charge of second degree murder of one of the males, and manslaughter of the other one," Sgt. Josee Valiquette with RCMP K-Division said.

The accused remains in custody, and is expected to appear in court January 8.

RCMP said autopsies have been scheduled for Monday in Edmonton.
