Lac La Biche RCMP closed down a section of Highway 881 on Sunday after serious vehicle collisions.
The Highway at Kilometer 159 and 120 were closed for several hours as officers investigated.
They were also advising motorists to stay off the highways in the area due to black ice.
Lac La Biche is about 220 kilometers northeast of Edmonton.
Meanwhile, police in Boyle also closed a section of highway due to a collision in the area.
Highway 63 north of Wandering River was closed to allow investigators to work through the scene.
Boyle is located about 160 kilometers north of Edmonton.
