On Wednesday, November 11, Albertans will pause to remember the sacrifices made by veterans in a variety of ceremonies and events.

CTV Edmonton has compiled a list of many of the events planned for Edmonton and the surrounding area:

EDMONTON

Remembrance Day Service - Kingsway Legion Branch 175 (14339 50 Street)

  • Parade starts at 10:30 a.m., ceremony to include a March on the Colours, two minutes of silence, prayers, and wreath laying

Butterdome Remembrance Day Ceremony - (U of A Campus 89 Avenue at 112 Street)

  • Indoor service from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. – organizers ask attendees to be seated by 10:10 a.m.
  • Service to take place in Butterdome at Van Vliet Centre on the University of Alberta campus (89 Avenue and 112 Street)

21-Gun Salute - South side of the Legislature Grounds

  • Event set to start at 11 a.m.

Remembrance Day Service at West Edmonton Mall – hosted by Jasper Place Branch #255 of the Royal Canadian Legion

  • Service starts at 10 a.m. at the Ice Palace, Level One, Phase II

Remembrance Day events through the City of Edmonton

Remembrance Day service at City Hall

  • Between 10:15 and 10:35 a.m. in the City Room at City Hall (first-come first-served seating to start at 9:45 a.m. – attendees asked to be seated by 10:10 a.m.)

Wreath laying ceremony at City Hall cenotaph

  • Immediately following service in City Room, between 10:55 and 11:30 a.m. (spectators asked to be in place by 10:50 a.m.)

Ceremony at Loyal Edmonton Regiment Military Museum (Prince of Wales Armouries Heritage Centre 10440 108 Avenue)

  • Ceremony to take place between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Remembrance Day at Municipal Cemetaries

  • Fields of Honour – flags to be lowered at the Edmonton Cemetery (11820 107 Avenue), Beechmount Cemetery (12420 104 Street), and the Northern Lights Cemetery (15203 Campbell Road)

No Stone Left Alone Remembrance Ceremony (Tuesday, November 10, 2015)

  • Between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. at the Beechmount Cemetery (12420 104 Street)

ETS Remembrance Day service – travel will be free for those in military uniform or legion dress, with a Canadian Forces identification card, or with a veteran’s card on Wednesday, November 11.

SPRUCE GROVE

Remembrance Day Service – TransAlta Tri Leisure Centre (221 Jennifer Heil Way, Spruce Grove)

  • Doors open at 9:30 a.m., attendees are asked to be seated by 10:15 a.m.
  • Parking on site limited, organizers ask attendees to take alternative transportation to the service, such as taxi, carpooling or walking

STRATHCONA COUNTY

Remembrance Day Service – Millenium Place (Field 1, 2000 Premier Way)

  • Attendees asked to be seated before 10:30 a.m.

ST. ALBERT

Remembrance Day Parade and Cenotaph Service – Cenotaph, St. Anne Street, St. Albert

  • 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Parade to leave the Legion on Taché Street, moving along Sir Winston Churchill Avenue to St. Anne Street
  • Service to start at 11 a.m. at the Cenotaph

LEDUC

Remembrance Day Ceremony – Leduc Recreation Centre, Co-Op Field House (4330 Black Gold Dr.)

  • Attendees asked to be seated by 9 a.m., service to start at 9:15 a.m.
  • Following the service, wreaths will be laid at the Leduc Cenotaph, located at the Civic Centre (#1 Alexandra Park)
