Police said Monday that an autopsy had been scheduled in the suspicious death of a man who was found near an off-ramp in the city’s west end Sunday morning.

Officers were called to the area of Stony Plain Road and Winterburn Road on Sunday, at about 8:30 a.m., after the body of a man was found in a field north of the 215 Street traffic ramp.

The man’s death is being treated as suspicious, police said the man suffered “major head trauma”.

On Monday, police said an autopsy had been scheduled for that day.

The Homicide Section is investigating.
