A spokesperson with CN says they are investigating after a train derailed near Fort Saskatchewan, causing one car to tip over.

Kevin Franchuk a spokesperson for CN says the derailment happened at about 3 p.m. at the Scotford Yard near Range Road 215 and Highway 15.

CN says the 64 car-train was moving at a slow speed when 8 of the cars derailed. One of those cars, which was carrying fertilizer product called Urea, tipped over.

Crews are on scene to clean up the mess, but CN says the fertilizer is not considered dangerous.

No one was injured.
