A woman accused of helping her brother escape from custody had her court case put over Tuesday. Sandra Lynn Myshak, the sister of convict William Bicknell, was arrested last week shortly after her brother escaped while on an escorted pass from the Drumheller Correctional Institution.

Police say Bicknell visited Myshak earlier in the day while he was the temporary absence pass.

She now faces seven charges.

Meantime, her brother remains on the run.

Bicknell gained control of the vehicle he was riding in last Thursday and held a Correctional Services employee hostage as they made their way to Edmonton.

Police say Bicknell managed to obtain several firearms and a quantity of ammunition while the two continued to travel. The pair headed to a rural residence in the Chipman area, northeast of Edmonton, where the prisoner forced his way into the residence and demanded keys to a vehicle from the homeowner. Police believe Bicknell knows the homeowner.

Authorities are reminding the public that Bicknell is still on the loose and considered armed and dangerous. He should not be approached.

The 42-year-old is described as:

  •   6'6" tall
  •   402 pounds

He may be driving a 2009 grey Chevrolet Impala with licence plate number CXE 602.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
