Police west of Edmonton said Thursday that officers were investigating, after the remains of a man from New Brunswick were found near Stony Plain.

Stony Plain RCMP said at about 8 a.m. Sunday, September 21, officers were called to an area near Highway 16 and Parkland Drive, on reports that human remains had been found there.

RCMP have since confirmed the deceased is an 18-year-old New Brunswick man – the man’s family has requested his identity not be released, nor will the cause of death in this case.

Investigators said he was living and working in Alberta when he died.

The investigation continues.
