RCMP are investigating after a teenage girl was found dead in an Edson apartment on Friday morning.
According to police, officers were called to the scene at around 10:30 a.m. in response to a report of a “deceased youth.”
RCMP have arrested and charged Tyrell James Perron, 21, with first degree murder, indignity to human remains and possession of a prohibited firearm. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 15.
Edmonton Major Crime Unit, Edson Forensic Identification Section and Edson RCMP continue to investigate.
An autopsy is scheduled for early next week.
No other details have been released.
