Police in Edmonton's West Division are asking for the public's help in finding a man wanted in connection with several fraud scams, thefts and a recent personal robbery in Westmount.

Members of the public have been asked to help find Shaun Allan Cartwright, 30, who is described as:

  • Caucasian
  • 5'9"
  • Approximately 155 lbs.
  • Dirty blonde or brown hair
  • May have a slight growth of facial hair.

The call for help comes the day after the suspect reportedly struck again.

According to police, he rang the doorbell of a home in the Westmount area on 108 Avenue and 135 Street just before 8 p.m. Tuesday, and reportedly told the homeowner he had been locked out of his house, and that he needed money for a locksmith, and then asked to come inside and use the phone in the house.

He reportedly made some calls, then threw the phone at the homeowner, and pushed him – before taking an envelope with cash, and fleeing the home.

Police were called, but could not find the suspect.

After some investigation, police found this most recent incident was another in a string of similar scams – including several residents of Thorncliff, Westmount and Callingwood.

Investigators are growing concerned because the alleged suspect is becoming more aggressive.

Police are asking anyone who sees Cartwright to call the EPS non-emergency line at 780-423-4567 – and if he goes to your home, don't allow him inside or give him money, and call 911.
