After police locked down a northeast Edmonton street due to a weapons complaint, officers said they had one man in custody.

Early Monday afternoon, Edmonton Police Service officials said a man had barricaded himself inside a home in the area of 150 Avenue and 45 Street, and it was believed he had a firearm with him.

Due to the ongoing incident, police shut down the affected roads as they dealt with the incident.

Just before 1:30 p.m., police said the incident had been resolved and a man had been taken into custody.

EPS said police would remain in the area for some time as they investigated.
