A day after police started an investigation into an alleged abduction; police have released the name and picture of the person who was allegedly taken.

Police said they were asking for the public’s help in finding Rhianne Melin Larocque, 29, who witnesses said was assaulted and then abducted Thursday morning in the area of 75 Street and 120 Avenue just before 10 a.m. Thursday.

A witness told CTV News a man in his 20s, who was with Larocque before the abduction ran to him for help Thursday morning.

“All of a sudden a guy comes running in, saying ‘Call the cops, call the cops’,” Witness Joel said.

“He comes back again and he yells ‘[They’ve] got two big butcher knives, and I think they’re taking her, they’re stealing her car’,” Joel said.

Larocque is the registered owner of a gray 2013 Dodge Dart, with the Alberta license plate HAH 030 – Joel said he saw that vehicle drive off when he went to see what was happening.

“I saw the care take off, and then somebody got in, I just caught the tail end, got into a Ford Explorer and took off behind it,” He said.

It’s believed the woman’s vehicle and a blue Ford Escape SUV in the alleged abduction.

However, Joel said he didn’t see the alleged altercation that reportedly took place before.
