Results of the autopsy on the victim of Edmonton's most recent homicide have been released, including the victim's name and cause of death.

The autopsy was held Monday, and victim has been identified as 27-year-old Chrysostom Caragay Marquez, and the Medical Examiner has ruled he was killed by a stab wound.

Police are still investigating the events leading up to the death, after 10 p.m. Saturday, September 17th, officers were called to a west-end apartment building on 115 Avenue and 132 Street, on reports of a stabbing.

The man was stabbed after a fight between several men in an apartment suite escalated.

Marquez was taken to hospital suffering from stab wounds, but later succumbed to his injuries.

Police believe the victim and the attackers knew each other, at this point no suspects are in custody and no charges have been laid.
