RCMP have been searching for two suspects after a gas station was robbed in central Alberta.

Officers responded to the call at the Fas Gas in Two Hills around 2 a.m. Sunday.

They said two masked men gained entry to the store while the owner was inside and demanded money. The suspects then fled the scene.

Police located a running vehicle just south of the town on Highway 36. The vehicle was believed to be stolen.

Officials said the men made off with about $1,000 in cash.

No weapons were used and the store owner was not injured.

The suspects are believed to be Aboriginal men in their 20s.
