Northern Alberta RCMP are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who was caught on surveillance video robbing a convenience store in Grande Prairie over the weekend.

RCMP said the incident took place at about 4:30 a.m. on Saturday.

A man entered a convenience store on 76 Avenue and 93 Street – and asked for cigarettes.

The suspect then pulled out a knife, and demanded the employee at the store hand over all of the money in the cash register – however, the suspect only took the cigarettes.

He was last seen leaving the store in an older model green Chevrolet truck, heading west.

The store worker was not injured in the incident.

The suspect is described as:

  • Male in his 40s
  • Gray beard

At the time, he was wearing a green Saskatchewan Roughriders sweatshirt.

Anyone with information on the suspect’s identity is asked to call Grande Prairie RCMP at 780-830-5700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
