RCMP south of Edmonton are working to identify the man behind an armed robbery that took place in a business located in New Sarepta Tuesday.

Leduc RCMP were called to the New Sarepta Tavern Tuesday, just after 11 a.m. – after an armed robbery was reported.

On the scene, witnesses told officers that a man had entered the business as the clerk was getting ready for the start of her shift – officers learned that the man was carrying a small firearm when he demanded the cash in the till.

It’s not clear how much money the suspect reportedly took, when he left in a small silver or gray coloured Chevrolet Cavalier, possibly a 2004 model.

The suspect is described as:

  • Caucasian
  • Average height
  • Believed to be in his late 30s or early 40s
  • Muscular build
  • Clean shaven
  • Deep laugh lines around his mouth
  • Large nose
