Edmonton police said Thursday that a third person had been charged in connection to the stabbing death of a man in his 20s back in 2015.

On Sunday, February 22, 2015, at about 3:30 a.m., officers were called to the area of 102 Street and 107 Avenue, where two males were found suffering from stab wounds.

Police were then directed to an apartment at 103 Street and 107 Avenue – where they found Deng Mathew Garang Tong, 23, also suffering from stab wounds. Tong was treated on the scene and taken to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

On Thursday, police said a third individual, Clinton Robert Kailek, 26, had been charged with first degree murder, and three counts each of attempted murder and aggravated assault.

Billy Joe Nelson, 37, and Tyler Strathdee, 27, were charged in March in connection to Tong’s homicide.
