A father and son from Alberta have died following a plane crash in B.C.

Officials said the plane went down five nautical miles west of Tofino around 3 p.m. Saturday.

The Cessna left Lethbridge around 10 a.m. Saturday and made a stop in Abbotsford before continuing on for Tofino.

Crews located the wreckage from the air around 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

No names have been released.

The plane is registered to Hutch Air, owned by Daytona Homes.

The company has offices in Edmonton and Lethbridge.
