An Edmonton man has been charged with second-degree murder after allegedly killing a woman in west Edmonton in 2014.

Jesse Martin, 33, was arrested Wednesday in connection with the homicide of Freda Goodrunning on June 4, 2014.

Goodrunning, 35, was found dead in a detached storage shed in the area of 174 Street and Stony Plain road when West Division officers responded to a call for service around 1:45 p.m.

Police said Goodrunning died as a result of blunt force trauma.

Martin was charged with second-degree murder and possession of an offensive weapon.

This was Edmonton’s 12th homicide of 2014.
