Edmonton’s Food Bank and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teamed up for their 7th annual door to door food drive on Saturday.

Earlier this week, church members dropped off more than 200,000 bags around homes across the city to be filled up with food before they were collected today.

“You can say you have faith and you believe, but when you actually put that into action and help your neighbour and do what He would do, we are so thrilled to be out here to do that,” Chantelle McMullin said.

The Food Bank said more than 20,000 Edmontonians receive food hampers each month.

“These wonderful volunteers are going to help us re-stock some much-needed food in our warehouse,” Food Bank spokesperson Tamisan Bencz-Knight said.
