The West Edmonton Mall lifted the veil on the Diana: A Celebration exhibit Saturday.

It chronicles the life of the Princess of Wales, long before she held that title.

“This was a chance to learn what her life was a child and growing up before she became immersed in publicity and association with the royal family,” Linda Martin said.

Martin, along with friend Peggy Renaud, was one of the first to see the display and both ladies said they were impressed.

Martin said she was always drawn to Diana.

“She always came across as someone that was more like us. She always seemed so down to earth.”

Money raised will go towards the Princess of Wales Memorial Fund.

The exhibition will run until June 9.
