A man is in custody after assaulting approximately eight people at a north Edmonton McDonald’s Saturday afternoon.

Police responded to a report of a disturbance at the Kingsway McDonald’s in the area of 105 Street and 111 Avenue at approximately 3:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found three bystanders holding a 19-year-old man on the ground outside the restaurant.

The offender appeared to be intoxicated and did not know the people he assaulted, police said.

EPS said they have spoken with three of the eight people assaulted, but the other five left before police arrived.

“We’d like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident,” Const. Douglas MacDougall said. “We also want to ensure that the individuals who had direct contact with the suspect, are doing well.”

No one was hurt during these assaults, police said.

The 19-year-old culprit is in custody and charges are pending, EPS said.
