Edmonton Police said Monday that a man in his 40s had been charged in connection to a collision that left one man dead in early October.

Just before 7 a.m. on October 7, officers were called to a crash involving two pickup trucks in the northbound lanes of Anthony Henday Drive, between the Lessard and Terwillegar Drive exits.

Reports indicated a Dodge Ram headed southbound on Anthony Henday Drive crossed the centre median, into the northbound lanes, and crashed into a Ford F150 travelling northbound.

The driver of the northbound truck was treated on the scene and taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The second driver sustained non-life threatening injuries.

On Monday, police said the driver of the Dodge Ram, identified as Tony Thibodeau, 44, had been charged with careless driving.

Speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash.
