Edmonton police said one person has been charged in connection to an investigation that saw a home in the city’s northeast searched.

Police said on Wednesday, October 26, officers with the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) Northeast Division Beats Team, Tactical Unit and the Edmonton Drug and Gang Enforcement Unit searched a home in the area of 149 Avenue and 76 Street at about 5:30 p.m.

In the search, investigators seized a 9mm Glock, two SKS rifles and a .22 calibre rifle. In addition, a magazine, ammunition, 6.8 grams of psilocybin mushrooms (valued at about $70), and drug paraphernalia were also seized.

Now, police have charged Andras Kantona, 41, with four counts of possession of a firearm knowing possession is unauthorized, careless use of a firearm, unauthorized possession of prohibited device or ammunition, possession knowing serial number is altered, defaced or removed and possession of a controlled substance.

Police said the investigation is still underway.
