Photo of evidence released as part of sexual assault investigation

RCMP in central Alberta are asking for the public’s help in identifying the possible owner of a unique piece of drug paraphernalia, found at the scene of a New Year’s Day sexual assault.

Red Deer RCMP said the incident occurred in downtown Red Deer at about 5:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 1 – when it’s alleged the male suspect assaulted a woman.

The male suspect is described as:

• Caucasian
• Mid-20s
• Light brown hair

At the time of the assault it’s believed he was wearing blue jeans and a black winter coat.

On Tuesday, Police released a photo of a unique, elephant shaped marijuana pipe, which police said was left at the scene by the male suspect.

Anyone with information on who the pipe belonged to, or have any other information pertaining to the case, is asked to contact Red Deer RCMP at 403-343-5575, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
