Strathcona RCMP responded to a single plane crash in South Cooking Lake southeast of Sherwood Park Tuesday.
The pilot, a 76-year-old man, was on his way to Smokey Lake, but shortly after takeoff, the wing of his plane hit the water and the aircraft flipped over.
The pilot was able to get out. RCMP say he did not sustain any injuries.
