Police south of Edmonton are investigating after a business in Leduc was apparently firebombed early Monday morning.

Leduc RCMP said firefighters were called to the business, located on the corner of 50 Street and 50 Avenue at about 2 a.m. Monday.

It was reported a male suspect had broken the front window, and threw what is believed to be an incendiary device inside, which started a fire.

Police said the business quickly became involved, and two adjacent businesses were also damaged. No one was inside at the time, so nobody was injured in the incident.

The suspect fled the scene.

RCMP described the suspect as male, 172.5 cm (5’8”) tall, wearing blue jeans, a black overcoat and a light grey hooded sweatshirt.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Leduc RCMP at 780-980-7267 or local police.
