Police in central Alberta are investigating after an armed robbery at a Red Deer convenience store.
RCMP said the robbery took place Saturday morning at a store on Allan Street. Investigators said the suspect brandished a knife at staff, and left with cash and packages of cigarettes.
The suspect is described as:
- Caucasian
- In his 20s
The suspect reportedly wore a black shirt, a black mask and a white hard hat pulled low over his eyes.
Officers were called to the scene just after 6 a.m., and were on the scene in a few minutes – they searched the area on foot, in police vehicles and with the help of Police Dog Services.
It’s believed the suspect fled the scene in a waiting vehicle, but no one was injured during the robbery.
