Edmonton police said late Friday that Homicide detectives were investigating what has become the city’s most recent homicide, after a deceased male was found in an apartment in the city’s northeast.

Police said officers with Northeast Division were called to an apartment in the area of 119 Avenue and 34 Street at 7 p.m. Thursday, after receiving a call from paramedics.

When police arrived, they found an unidentified deceased male inside.

An autopsy was carried out Friday, and confirmed the manner of death was homicide – although the cause of death was not being released.

EPS said the identity of the deceased has not been released as next of kin hasn’t been notified.
