Good news! It's supposed to be relatively warm out this weekend, so you have the option of going outside—but don't let that stop you from simply enjoying the warm weather by staying indoors and looking out a window every so often.

Whether you want to be in or out of the weather, there's plenty to do in Edmonton this weekend, and here's some proof.

Ice on Whyte Festival (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

Edmonton's quintessential winter festival returns for its thirteenth year and features just about everything you could hope for—and then some.Live music, ice sculptures, drinks (including some for adults), traditional winter activities and more await you at the festival.

There are actually too many events to list here, so head on over to the calendar of events to pinpoint what you're most interested in. Or, you know, just wander around and enjoy! If you go that route, be sure to stop by the CTV Entertainment Tent!

Lunar New Year: The Legends Fireworks Spectacular at the Muttart Conservatory (Saturday)

From their website:

"Celebrate the year of the Monkey at our 2016 Lunar New Year Event! Enjoy this family friendly event by taking in the new feature pyramid Lunar New Year: The Monkey Legend, watch traditional music and dance performances, try your hand at traditional games and crafts and much more. Be sure to look to the sky behind the Muttart at 6pm for a dazzling display of fireworks on Conners Hill!"

All of that sounds great, but then you end on the fireworks? We're sold.

Canada's Top Ten Short Films 2016 (Sunday)

Part of a larger thematic series, this screening shows you ten Canadian short films. With works by that many unique creators, you're guaranteed a wide range of topics, pace, and tone.

As well, Edmonton’s own Trevor Anderson will be in attendance, and his short, The Little Deputy will be screened.

"The Little Deputy

Canada 2015, 9 min, Trevor Anderson

An uncomfortable moment between a father and his son is reassessed in this witty and memorable documentary short from Edmonton filmmaker Trevor Anderson."

Whatever you end up doing, enjoy! If all else fails, you can read this short list over and over again until Monday. That sounds fun, right?
