Edmonton police said Wednesday that two teenaged girls were facing charges in connection to the death of a man, who was found injured near an Edmonton LRT station in late March.

Police said officers were called to the area of 129 Avenue and 58 Street, near the Belvedere LRT Station, at about 2:20 a.m. Sunday, March 27 – police had received reports that a man had signs of trauma.

The man was treated on the scene, and taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

An autopsy by the Edmonton Medical Examiner determined Bruce Peter MacDonald, 50, died from a stab wound.

Police said Wednesday that two teenaged girls, aged 16 and 17-years-old, were facing charges of robbery and second degree murder.

The accused can’t be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Detectives said they are not looking for any additional suspects.
