Alberta Health Services announced Wednesday that wait times for the Emergency Department at the Strathcona Community Hospital would be posted online starting Thursday.
Officials said the information would be provided in real time, and updated every two minutes in an effort to help members of the public consider all of their options when choosing a location to seek medical assistance.
Wait times listed on the website are defined by how long it takes a patient to be seen by a doctor, once their assessed by a triage nurse – officials said the times don’t represent the total time patients may spend at the hospital or care centre.
The hospital in Strathcona County opened in May – the information can be found online, or through the AHS wait times mobile app.
