Edmonton Harry Potter fans will soon get the chance to get a close-up look inside the wizard’s magical world, and two actors who appeared in the films will be on hand to kick off the event.

Harry Potter: The Exhibition, will open at the TELUS World of Science in late November, and British actors James and Oliver Phelps, who portrayed Fred and George Weasley in all eight Harry Potter movies, will be in Edmonton to host a special sneak-peek event ahead of the opening.

The exhibition will give visitors a first-hand look inside Harry Potter’s world, featuring hundreds of film artifacts from all of the movies, presented in settings inspired by the movies, including the Great Hall, Hagrid’s Hut and the Gryffindor common room.

Plus, visitors can try their hand at some interactive activities, including pulling a mandrake in Herbology class, practicing their Quidditch skills by throwing a Quaffle, or sitting in Hagrid’s giant-sized armchair.

Edmonton is the 10th stop for the exhibition, which started in Chicago in 2009 – and has made stops in Tokyo, New York City and Singapore.

To attend the sneak-peek, TELUS World of Science is holding a contest - anyone who purchases tickets to the exhibition before midnight November 10 will be eligible to win a pair of tickets - more information can be found online.

The exhibition opens Saturday, November 23 at 12:01 a.m., and will run through to Sunday March 9, tickets are available through the TELUS World of Science.
