Two people are dead after an accidental fire in north Edmonton.

A man and woman were transported to hospital in serious condition early Sunday morning, where they later passed away as a result of smoke inhalation.

Friends have identified the victims as Roseann Deleeuw, 26, and Jeremy Grambo, 28. The couple has two young sons, a 4-year-old, and a 10-month-old. A Go-Fund-Me page has been set up for the two boys by friends.

Fire crews were called to a suite at Northwoods Village in the area of 152 Ave. and 114 St. just before 3am on Sunday after a neighbor smelled smoke. The couple was found in the living room of the suite.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but investigators believe it started on the stove. The smoke detectors in the suite were not working when the blaze broke out.

The fire caused approximately $100,000 in damage.
