Edmonton police said Tuesday that a weekend death was still being handled as suspicious, as the cause and manner of death had yet to be confirmed.

Police began investigating after officers were called to a home in the city’s southeast, near 35 Avenue and 60 Street just after 1 a.m. Saturday.

It’s believed people had been gathering at the home when a fight broke out, and when emergency crews arrived, they pronounced the man dead at the scene.

The Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy on the deceased Tuesday; however, a cause of death couldn’t be confirmed pending toxicology results.

Investigators said the deceased had been identified as a 32-year-old man from the Philippines.
