A day after police began investigating a suspicious death at a downtown condominium, police said charges had been laid – but few details would be released before an autopsy was completed.

Police said Thursday that the autopsy in connection to a suspicious death in the area of 103 Avenue and 111 Street had been scheduled for Friday, January 3.

According to investigators, a 52-year-old man had been found by a friend in the stairwell of a condominium high-rise in the area Wednesday.

Officials said the friend knocked on doors in the building in an effort to get help.

Police were called to the building at 8 a.m. – and when officers arrived, they began performing CPR on the man until paramedics arrived.

However, the man was pronounced dead at the hospital.

On Thursday, police said charges had been laid in the case, but no additional details would be released before the autopsy was completed.
