Motorists have been advised to be cautious while travelling downtown over the next couple of days as the Tour of Alberta race cycles through.

Edmonton Police Service (EPS) said there will be a significant increase in cycling traffic and drivers have been asked to plan ahead for their commute.

"These cyclists are fast and you might not expect them to be where they are while you are commuting. Take the extra couple seconds to check your sideview mirrors twice and be on the lookout,” Insp. Ed MacIsaac said in a press release.

For more information residents have been asked to contact the City of Edmonton either online or by phone, 311.
