An Edmonton barber said he lost thousands of dollars after thieves nabbed sport memorabilia off his walls.

On Wednesday, December 4, Fred Haymour said he found the lock broken on his shop at 90th Avenue and 75th Street.

“Already when I pulled up I said 'Oh, no. Something is not right’.”

Haymour has owned Holyrood Barber Shop for the last four years and said he used his sport collectables to add a unique feel to the store.

Something his customers have come to appreciate.

“They see something for sale and they tell me ‘Fred, there is something here you might like.’ Some of my customers they bring me stuff.

“I am not going to let somebody ruin that for me and my customers.”

Some of the stolen items include photos of Wayne Gretzky, Martin Broudeur and Mario Lemieux.

Haymour said he has been keeping his eye on online auction sites in case any of his stuff materializes.

“Me and my customers and my staff have been on Kijiji everyday looking for stuff. We haven’t found nothing yet but maybe something will show up.”

Police have been investigating and estimate the stolen items to be worth $3,500.

In the meantime, Haymour said he will keep looking for items to fill the holes on his walls.
