Edmonton police are investigating after a teenaged girl was reportedly attacked in an alleyway in the Terwillegar area Thursday afternoon.

Police said the incident took place just before 5 p.m., near a convenience store located on Towne Centre Boulevard.

It’s believed the teen was walking home from her bus stop, eventually turning north into an alleyway – and that’s where the assault took place.

The teen was reportedly jumped from behind, and the attacker forced her to the ground where a struggle ensued.

Officials said the teen broke free, and ran to safety in a nearby home – someone at the home called police and reported the incident, the teen sustained minor injuries in the incident.

The suspect is described as:

  • Male
  • About 5’10” tall
  • Average build
  • Wearing dark clothing, with a balaclava and gloves

EPS said this attack is believed to be connected to an incident dating back to November 8, near Tanner Wynd, also in the Terwillegar neighbourhood.

In that incident, the alleged attacker reportedly appeared to be running past a woman, before suddenly turning and pushing the woman against a fence.
