A day after police issued a warning over an individual allegedly spending counterfeit foreign currency at a number of Edmonton stores; investigators released a photo of an individual believed to have been involved.
Police released a still, taken from surveillance video, showing a male suspect – saying the individual was wanted in connection to incidents that have seen the fake U.S. bills used in Edmonton-area big box stores.

On Tuesday, EPS said reports of the fake money, usually fake $100 bills, started coming in this October.
The bills recovered to date include the following serial number sequences with three varying digits:
- IJ11401_ _ _ I
- KD74872_ _ _A
- HB66698_ _ _E
- HJ61755_ _ _A
The suspect is using the counterfeit bills to purchase electronics and gift cards.
