Homicide detectives investigating after body found in Edmonton apartment

Edmonton homicide detectives have been called out after police discovered the body of a man they believe was shot at a westend apartment building.

According to Insp. Brian Nowlan police responded to two separate calls from suites in the building on 149 Street and 89 Avenue just after 4 p.m. Saturday.

“Apparently one male entered the suite, a fight of some sort ensued. The individual that initially entered the suite fled, ran, and was last seen running out the back door.

“When police arrived we found a deceased male in the suite where the male had left.”

Officials said the victim appeared to be in his 30s and an autopsy has been scheduled for Monday at 1 p.m. 

No further details were released.

Police are now hunting for a suspect, which they believe left in a white vehicle.
