Edmonton police have laid a number of charges against a man in his 30s, after a teenaged girl was struck and seriously injured by a car Monday.

On Wednesday, police said Wayne Morley Wilcox, 37, is facing a number of charges including criminal hit and run causing bodily harm, and dangerous driving causing bodily harm.

Wilcox was charged in connection to a collision that took place in the area of 130 Street and 130 Avenue Monday evening.

Police were called to the area at about 8:30 p.m., on reports of the crash.

It’s alleged a 14-year-old girl was hit by a car that fled the scene.

She was rushed to hospital with serious, life threatening injuries.

Police said the teen, and the accused, are known to eachother.

Wilcox is also facing a number of other charges ranging from possession of stolen property, to possession of a controlled substance.
