Fire crews emptied a four-storey walk-up apartment building of all its residents this morning as they dealt with an early morning fire on the third floor.

Firefighters responded around 5:00 a.m. to the building, near 106 Avenue and 122 Street, and spotted flames in one unit. They confirm that the body of a man was found inside the burning suite.

The fire was quickly declared as under control. Around 70 residents have been evacuated and can expect to be out of their homes until at least noon.
